Art meets the Garden

I  bought these little plant stakes that I was going to use to point out plants I had put near a fence so my lawn mower guy didn’t mow them over.  They turned out a little shorter than I thought I would like.  I decided instead to write sayings, either my own or those from from famous gardeners that I shortened.

I wrote and drew on them with POSCA acrylic paint markers and then let them dry for 24 hours.  I then sprayed them with two coats of an acrylic fixative spray, as acrylic paints are water soluble and these will be sitting in pots around my garden in the rain.

These are slate plant markers and you can get them from various sites including amazon and hang on little wire stakes.  These are the Homemax Plant Label

Here is my project and a few shots of my garden.

And here are a few shots of the garden in spring.
